Jaguar Academy of Sport Rising Stars attended their fourth workshop in Tunbridge Wells as part of the Mentoring & Eucation Programme, which is delivered by Kelly Holmes Education on behalf of the Academy.
This workshop focused on 'Body and Mind' and was hosted by former British cyclist Bryan Steel who in his 15-year career, won Olympic, World and Commonwealth medals both with his team and individually. Bryan has also been announced as Jaguar Academy of Sport Star of the Future, Crystal Lane's one-to-one mentor.
The Rising Stars also worked with experts in their field. Pilates coach Sandrine Walker worked with the Rising Stars through Pilates and focused how this activity can help athletes progress in their chosen sport. Mind training coach Katie Page focused on how mental attitude can lead to success in sport. This followed on from Katie's work at the 2011 workshop with Jessica Ennis focusing on coping with injury.
Jaguar Academy of Sport Mentor, Bryan Steel commented: 'It's great to be able to work with British sports stars of tomorrow and to see them so engaged in what they are doing. The Mentoring and Education Programme is key in supporting young athletes and I hope some of the knowledge I've passed on will help them within their training and competition schedule."
