Athlete Resume

Sam is a young canoe slalom paddler who competes in the C1 category. He became involved in canoeing following in his two brothers footsteps who, along with his twin sister, are top level juniors. He fits his training around school and alternates an hour and a half gym sessions with three two hours paddling sessions in Nottingham at The National Water Sports Centre.

Despite his young age, he competes for Holme Pierrepont CC in the J18 and open age group alongside senior paddlers and has picked up some strong results in recent times. He has been selected to represent England in Canoe Slalom in the 2011 Pan Celtic Cup events throughout the year as well as for the Great Britain Team which travelled to the Junior European Championships in Bosnia.
